Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Well, for me anyways. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale may as well be Christmas in July, and is the best time to buy clothes for fall.  It is always a tradition in my family to go the first day of the sale. However this is the second year in a row that I have been able to shop “early access.” Nordstrom cardholders can get early access to the sale which started July 14 and goes until July 21. The sale opens up to the general public July 22 and goes until August 7.

What makes the Anniversary sale so great? They take brand-new, just arrived styles and offer them to you at super-sale prices. This means you can save huge on name brand items for men, women, and kids. When the event ends, all sale items return to their original prices.

Below are items I have either purchased or think would be a great addition to anyone’s closet this fall. I picked some basic staple items and some fun extras. Usually I try to buy things that I know I will need in the fall like jeans, boots, sweaters, and of course an new handbag!

AG ‘The Legging’ Ankle Jeans originally $245.00 on sale for $163.90 – the perfect cropped, distressed denim for fall. These would be perfect with an oversized sweater or basic tee.

Joe’s ‘Honey’ Curvy Skinny Jeans originally $189.00 on sale for $99.90 – these fit me like a glove. I am 6 feet tall and I can’t tell you how hard it is to find jeans that are the right length and hug me in all the right places. My mom also got these jeans!!

Zella ‘Cut It Out’ High Waist Leggings originally $58.00 on sale for $37.90 – I am a sucker for the cut – out detail and the bright blue color

(not pictured) Zella ‘Live In’ Leggings originally $52.00 on sale for $33.90 – These are not pictured but I linked these because these are my favorite black leggings! I bought a second pair this year because thats how much I wear them.

Lush Deep-V Neck Tee originally $24.00 on sale for $15.90 – This shirt comes in 5 colors and it is such a great staple to wear under cardigans or just all by itself!

Lush Strappy Long Sleeve Woven Blouse originally $48.00 on sale for $31.90 – pair with jeans and over the knee boots or a cute floppy hat for brunch.

Lush Twist Front woven Top originally $38.00 on sale for $24.90 – comes in 3 colors and I think it would look great with some high – waisted skinny jeans, pumps, and a leather jacket.

Billabong ‘Hey You’ Jacquard Fringe Cardigan originally $69.95 on sale for $45.90 – The print on this cardigan looks better in person. The aztec print and fringe on this cardigan is everything.

Halogen Long Side Slit Cardigan originally $78.00 on sale for $49.90 – such a classy, feminine sweater. I love the ‘pink smoke’ color.

Leith Sawl Collar Cocoon Cardigan originally $74.00 on sale for $49.90 – I love this cardigan in black as a basic staple, but I ordered the ‘rust’ color to brighten up a basic black or white top underneath.

Dreamers by Debut Seam Detail Pullover Sweater originally  $44.00 on sale for $28.90 – Ya’ll, this is the softest sweater I have ever felt. I have the ‘mocha’ color but also the ‘rust’ color is stunning too. It fits me a little bit more over-sized than the model, which I like but if you don’t I would order a size down.

(not pictured) Dreamers by Debut Cowl Neck Boxy Pullover originally $45.00 on sale for $29.90 – I linked this because it is as great as the one linked above. So soft and less than $30 for a quality sweater!

Frye ‘Melissa Button’ Leather Riding Boot originally $367.95 on sale for $246.90 – these boots hardly ever go on sale!

Vince Camuto ‘Feina’ Bootie originally $159.95 on sale for $99.90 – these are so comfortable. The leather is so soft and they look so high-end!

Ivan Trump “Luci’ Over The Knee Boot originally $179.95 on sale for $119.90 – Hello!? Can we say Stuart Weitzman dupe? These won’t last long!

Vince Camuto ‘Abril’ Leather Shoulder Bag originally $228.00 on sale for $149.90 – Another dupe! Looks like the Chloe ‘Faye.’ This won’t last long!

Sole Society ‘Thalia’ Crossbody Bag originally $49.95 on sale for $32.90 – You guessed it, another dupe. This one is almost identical to the Chloe ‘Marcie’ Crossbody at a fraction of the cost!

Rebecca Minkoff Dog Clip Leather & Suede Saddle Bag originally $195.oo on sale for $129.90 – this purse pairs with cognac boots so well!

Now get shopping!

xoxo, Heather

Black Romper

Have you ever loved an outfit so much that you wore it twice in one week? No judgement here. This little black romper is the most comfortable piece of clothing I own. I could seriously sleep in it. It’s that soft! I also feel like it is so versatile. You can wear it with flats for a casual look, or add some wedges and accessories to glam it up. These wedges are from forever 21 and I feel like they look so high end, but they are only $30! Unfortunately this romper is from last year but I also really like this one and this one. My handbag is a total dupe, but I think it looks like the Chloe ‘Drew’ and you can purchase here.

I wore this outfit on Monday for a dinner date with my boyfriend, and again this weekend for my girlfriend’s bachelorette party! I think I would wear this every day if I could.

Hello lovlies! I don’t know about you all but surviving the heat this summer in KC is like a full time job. I love the look of light colors this summer and these blush, nude and rose gold tones are my jam right now! I mean hey, if I am sweating my booty off I might as well look good right?

And So The Adventure Begins

Welcome to Minted in the Midwest, my name is Heather! I am six feet tall and in my late twenties with a full-time job as a health professional. I live in downtown Kansas City with my boyfriend and my fur-baby, Lucy.  I love going out to eat, drinking wine, spending time with my friends and family, and most of all – shopping! I am a firm believer that a person does not need to have a large wallet in order to have great style. I have a huge passion for fashion and an eye for style, which is why I decided to start this blog. I hope you enjoy it!
